Experitest is an app for testing the functionality of applications or websites on various devices. Users can perform continuous web and mobile app testing to accelerate release cycles and increase quality. Experitest can integrate with open source tools such as Appium and Selenium and execute against 2,000+ mobile devices and web browsers. The challenge was to update the Experitest website UI to be more modern and friendly. This should help drive engagment to the site and increase sign ups.
My Role
My role as the UI/UX Designer included the tasks below. Turn around time for completion was one week.
Research
User & Competitor
Experience
Customer Journey
Design
Low & high fidelity prototypes
Research
I started by understanding the market and creating user personas that will help identify our target audience.
I researched the top two competitors in their market. Both of these testing apps provide similar offerings as Experitest.
Cross Browser Testing
Strengths
Can record videos in the browser/OS.Automated screenshot comparisons
Weaknesses
Can't change physical iOS device orientation. Slow and unstable
Lambda Testing
Strengths
Integrations with Jira, Slack, Asana, and Trello. Smart UI to identify visual deviations.
Weaknesses
No access to API. Doesn't offer a free trial
Experience
I mapped out the customer journey to understand how users will interact with Experitest in the real world.
Design
The client provided a few samples of inspiration for Experitest's design.
After creating a mood board for styles, I began to work on the mock ups.
The color palette is bright and welcoming, but also professional and trustworthy with the dark shade of blue.
The high fidelity prototype brought the whole vision to life.
Conclusion
This project was a great challenge to tackle. The client was very happy with the design and is looking forward to the implementation. Once the website is up and running we will regroup to review metrics to see how the website is performing.
